Hello There!

Welcome to my personal website. I am Youssef Chbani, an electrical and computer engineering major in Texas A&M Qatar. Here you can find some info about me as a person, you can find me documenting my journey in this semester as well as information I deem critical to me. Academics aside, let us talk about some of my hobbies, my main hobby is to take care of the cats in the dorms. A few years before I arrived, QF and Northwestern University at Qatar made a program to take in stray cats and take care of them. This program was initiated to make the dorms look more lively as well as give these animals a new home. Sadly, this program ended one semester after I arrived, which left me and a group of like minded people to take care of over 50 cats. This has taken most of my time even more than academics, since I had to feed and take care of them by taking them to the vet and nursing them to health. We also started going around education city feeding the cats which took countless hours a day and except this semester I was going around almost daily. But the time and money I spent on it is worth it as I get to see a direct impact on my surroundings especially since there was an uptick of cats that we took in that were abandoned by their owners and left in terrible shape.

My other hobby is table tennis, while I am not the greatest player on campus I can hold my own. I mostly started playing it since I put on a lot of weight when I arrived to Qatar and it provides a really good exercise especially since it is easily accessible in all the branch campuses as well as the student center. It also is a great opportunity to socialize since every day brings a new challenger. I have bought some gear for it, I have my own racket and table tennis balls mostly since the ones that are provided are usually of poor quality especially for fast paced games.
